Mission to BURKINA FASO – November 2025
A five-member team of "Heart Doctors" departed from Athens on Friday, 21.11.2025, for Burkina Faso. With a stopover in Istanbul, the mission arrived late in the evening of the same day in the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou. With a VIP escort, they arrived by road to the hotel where they would stay for the remaining days of the mission.
In the following days, the team waited for the countrys Customs to complete the inspection so that they could receive approval and be officially informed about the mission program, which they would begin by providing medical assistance where needed.
In the northern part of the country, there was intense activity by Anarchist Groups. This contributed to the fact that medical assistance was not provided to remote villages for the safety of the team.
The Ministry of Health then informed “Heart Doctors” team about the needs of the General Hospital, where they donated medicines for children. In this way, the team supported the needy families.
On 28/11, the team departed with a VIP escort to the airport, where they returned to Athens.
